Welcoming the new year with something a bit different

Sexual experimentation was high on the agenda at the beginning of the year, with the amount of searches for “sex toys” on Google increasing 10 fold over the new year period.

People were obviously intent on entering 2006 with a bang of a different kind as they searched for the term a record amount of times.

After its massive spike, on what was previously a very stable line, sex toys emerged on the otherside with a fraction more searches than before. Something must have gone right.

There is little to explain why this trend actually occurred, perhaps some kind of global experiment or just another freak coincidence.
